One of the pleasures of performing regularly at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center is the opportunity to collaborate with outstanding guest vocalists, each bringing their own personality and perspective to the music.
On June 2nd, Confluence Jazz looks forward to welcoming acclaimed St. Louis vocalist Anita Rosamond as part of the KPAC Coffee Concert Series. Every guest artist shapes a performance a little differently, and we are especially pleased to share the stage with a vocalist whose warmth, experience, and connection with audiences have made her a familiar name throughout the St. Louis music community.
For those who enjoy spending a morning surrounded by live music, good company, and familiar songs, it promises to be a memorable afternoon.
Why We Enjoy Working with Anita Rosamond

Many music lovers throughout St. Louis already know Anita Rosamond from performances at venues and events across the region. Over the years, she has appeared at places such as the Sheldon Concert Hall and the Pageant, along with major community events including the Whitaker Music Festival, Saint Louis Art Fair, St. Louis Jazz & Heritage Festival, and the KMOX Jazz & Wine Festival.
What audiences often appreciate most about Anita is her ability to connect with listeners.
Some singers have a way of making familiar songs feel personal, and Anita brings that kind of presence to a performance. Whether interpreting a jazz standard or revisiting a well-loved classic, she brings warmth, confidence, and a natural ease to the stage that audiences respond to immediately.
For musicians, those qualities make collaboration especially enjoyable.
One of the rewards of performing with guest vocalists is hearing how each artist approaches familiar material in their own way. Anita has a style that feels welcoming and expressive, which makes every performance feel relaxed and engaging.
Why the Coffee Concert Series Feels Special

Over time, the KPAC Coffee Concert Series has become something audiences genuinely look forward to, and we have come to appreciate the atmosphere these performances create.
There is something enjoyable about gathering for live music during the daytime.
The setting feels relaxed. Familiar faces return. Conversations begin before the performance starts, and audiences settle in ready to spend time simply listening.
At the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center, we have been fortunate to build a wonderful sense of continuity with returning listeners while also welcoming new faces who may be attending for the first time.
That sense of community is one of the things we value most about these performances.
What to Expect on June 2nd
Audiences joining us on June 2nd can expect a thoughtfully assembled morning of music featuring familiar favorites, jazz standards, and arrangements shaped around Anita Rosamond’s style as a vocalist.
As always, Confluence Jazz featuring Jim Owens on piano, Willem von Hombracht on bass, and Bradley Currey on drums will serve as the house band for the performance.
For longtime followers of the Coffee Concert Series, it will be another opportunity to enjoy live jazz in a welcoming setting. For first-time visitors, it is a wonderful introduction to both KPAC and the rotating guest artists who continue making these performances so enjoyable.
